Today our friends from LayerGloss twittered a picture of the Bloeddorst app in progress.
Here you see the first screen of Maarten Janssen’s comic. Oh, it’s gonna be so cool!
Unfortunately the other Maarten (Gerritsen) told us that he will not be able to finish his comic for the app in time. So we added a new author to our list. Curious? Stay tuned!

…looking at Maarten G’s sketches for Bloeddorst magazine. Today we talked all day about the comics we’re designing and finetuning at the moment. Here’s us at Studio Funny Farm in Arnhem.
There it is. The trailer we made for the iPad app. A very big thankyou goes to Peter Hoogeveen, the man who was responsible for the camera, the make-up, the editting and the sound-design.
And of course to Natasja van Loon, for portraying an awesome scream queen (though she’s running more than she is screaming).
The zombie is played by Mr. Bloeddorst Menno Kooistra and the hand that you see on 0’24” belongs to the one and only Maarten Janssens, that other Bloeddorst dude.
How’s that for Halloween?!

This week we’re gonna shoot the trailer for the Bloeddorst magazine app. It’ll feature all original elements such as a zombie, a screamqueen and an iPad.
Breaking news! Here’s the line-up for the first Bloeddorst magazine that if as goes well will be released during the Christmas holidays!
The cover will be made by the incredible comic artist Erik Kriek and the stories inside are from Maarten Gerritsen, Menno Kooistra (written by Peter Moerenhout) and Maarten Janssens.

Incredibly sad news. Last Saturday the amazing Dutch comic artist and Bloeddorst author Minck Oosterveer died in a motorcycle accident.
Minck created the comic hero Trunk for the first Bloeddorst book, together with writer and friend Willem Ritstier. Trunk later was given his own series of which the first book was released in 2008.
Minck will be greatly missed and we wish his family all the best.
RIP Minck!
It’s been a while, but hey, a lot has happened since. But we can assure you that we’re back now with great news.
Bloeddorst will return for sure. As a magazine, nothing new there, but brace yourself: on the iPad!
Yesterday we talked it all over with a fresh, young and talented people from LayerGloss who can make magic happen with the Apple tablet.
The first magazine of Bloeddorst, exclusively made for the iPad will probably see the light of day early 2012, perhaps even by the end of this year. Bloeddorst the magazine will not be just a comic made for the iPad. It’ll be an experience. Something unique and freaking terrifying. It goes without doubt you can expect the quality you’re used to from the book, but this time with extra’s. Expect sketches, bonus comics, easter eggs, movement, sound, and lots of other great features. One thing’s for sure: it’ll scare the living shit out of you.

Oh boy, do we get excited this time around! With Halloween approaching, there’s lots of good things going on. Nice festivals, horror-movie-marathons and premières, par-tees and lots of scared people. What a time to escape from the real-life horror we read about in the newspapers. Not that we don’t care of course, but we just can’t care 365 days a year. Karadzic, fuck him. Gaza: we’ll be interested again next week. Politics? We never cared.
